ABOUT
Richard P. Owens IV (Oluwafikayomi) born October 16th, 1983 in Chicago, Illinois. Richard P. Owens IV (Oluwafikayomi) is a passionate and committed professional musician and recording artist with the drive to succeed in the music industry. Growing up in Chicago's vibrant and diverse music scene was a complete environment full of musical inspiration for Richard to learn from. Richard has performed internationally as a freelance musician since he was fourteen years old. Working with west African Afrobeat bands, Reggae bands, Salsa bands, Blues bands, Jazz big bands, Jazz small groups and Symphony orchestras. Richard really enjoy performing and composing for many different styles of music. Richard has shared the stage with Jazz legends such as Frank Foster, Frank West, Barrie Lee Hall Jr., Joe Sample, Horace Alexander Young, Orbit Davis, Von Freeman, Kurt Elling, Buddy Guy, Femi Kuti, Sean Jones, Jon Faddis, Bill Watrous and many more. One of Richard's musical dreams was to get a good education in music. He currently holds a bachelors of arts in music in trombone performance from Texas Southern University and a masters of arts in music in music composition from Washington State University.
